When I started freelancing,
I was stuck in a loop of figuring out how to get fairly paid for design deliverables. Do I have to further improve my design skills? Do I have to add on more deliverables and revision rounds?

When I started freelancing, all I wanted was to get paid. Regardless of the scope, niche, or price. I just wanted to earn from designing. As time went on, I started booking more projects. But it came to a point where my design skills improved but I seemed to be only attracting two types of clients: the negotiators and the order givers.
I was stuck in a loop of figuring out how to get fairly paid for design deliverables. Do I have to further improve my design skills? Do I have to add on more deliverables and revision rounds?
And that’s when things changed for me. Potential clients no longer saw me as someone who can just create pretty graphics for them, but a partner who can help actualize their vision. I booked a project that’s 9 months worth of my annual income. And realized I could make a career out of creative work.
